18. Entry Point of the Town Walls

The entry point of the walls is a stone staircase leaning against the western town wall. It establishes communication from the town to the walkways in the upper zone of the walls. Today, this point is actually a descent from the town walls, while the entrance to the town walls is possible from the plateau near the citadel in the southern part of the Old Town.

The DIGITAL CULTURAL ROUTE project is supported by the Regional Program of Local Democracy in the Western Balkans 2 – ReLOaD2, financed by the European Union and implemented by UNDP. ReLOaD2 is implemented in Montenegro in partnership with 15 local governments, among which are the municipalities of Budva, Herceg Novi, Kotor and Tivat, which form the “Coastal Mates” cluster.

24. Iron Gate

The Iron gate is recorded in the sources as ‘Porta di spedali’. This gate was built in recent history, during the Austro-Hungarian occupation.
